Ann Marie Phipps

Ann Marie Phipps, 63 of Urbana, Missouri went to her Heavenly home on December 4, 2017. She was born on December 22, 1953 in Urbana, Missouri to Paul and Margaret Reser. She grew up in Preston, MO where she graduated from Hickory County R-1 High School in 1971. After graduating, she began working at the Urbana Rest Home as an aide where she met her best friend and love of her life, Ed Phipps. On September 6, 1974, she married Ed and to this union they were blessed with 3 children, Eddie Lealand, Steve Loren, and Angela Marie. In 1982, she and Ed took over the ownership and management of the Urbana Rest Home. She retired from the Rest Home in 1990. After a couple years off, she went back into the work force as a Pharmaceutical Tech at the Corner Drug Store and Hermitage Pharmacy. One of her favorite things was spending time reading, doing puzzles and watching Dancing with the Stars. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known to many as “Granny”. She was saved as a child at the age of 7 and baptized at the Preston Bible Baptist Church. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her kind, compassionate, caring and generous spirit will be greatly missed. She leaves behind a huge void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. Some would say that if you ever had the pleasure of meeting Ann, you could not help but love her. Preceding her in death and waiting to welcome her to her Heavenly home are her father and mother, Paul and Margaret Reser; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Mary Phipps; her two sons, Eddie and Steve Phipps; her brothers, Paul Selby Reser, Donald Smith and Johnnie Smith. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 43 years, Ed Phipps of Urbana, MO; daughter, Angela Marie Phipps Britain and her two children, Adrianna and Ryan, of Urbana, MO; daughter by heart, Vonda Reed of Buffalo, MO; sister, Lynn Bailey, and husband Tim, of Preston, MO; sister-in-laws, Karen Reser and May Smith, of Preston, MO; and, Jewel Smith of Hermitage, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-Law, Richard and Janet Prins, of Jasper, MO; grandson, Bradley McCowan and his wife Ashley and their 6 children, Kole, Natalie, Brooklyn, Riley, Karter and Cooper, of Buffalo, MO; granddaughter, Alyssa McCowan and her 3 children, Lane, MaKinley and Lincoln, of Buffalo, MO; granddaughter, Heather McCowan of Buffalo, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wayne Rash officiating. Escorts will be Gary Berry, Danny Morrison, Tanner Harris, Harrison D. Lightfoot, Tim Bailey, and Roger Reser. Honorary escort will be Bradley McCowan. Interment will be in the Fisher Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
