Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Bible Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Baker officiating. Carol Throckmorton sang, “Amazing Grace,” and recorded selections of “The Holy Hills” and “Over the Sunset Mountains” were played. Sheryl Ferrell was pianist. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Wilson, Archie Ritch, Everett Durrington and Lee Mills. Click image to enlarge Dorothy J. Wilson, 81, was born March 3, 1929, in Niangua, the daughter of Stuart and Jewel (Price) McGuire. She died April 14, 2010. After her father passed away, she and her family moved to Dallas County in 1937. She was a graduate of the class of 1947 from Buffalo High School. She was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, Buell Dale Wilson, on May 14, 1947, in Springfield, and to this union three children were born. She was saved at a young age and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Buffalo. Her family and Lord were her life. She loved being around children as well. After her husband died, she worked with children through Experience Works, Foster Grandparents, and the Buffalo Preschool until her health failed her a few months ago. She loved helping and giving love and hugs to all the children she worked with and was well-known as Grandma Dorothy. She loved feeding anyone that happened to stop by for a visit. Family gatherings were all about her famous banana pudding. She also made the best strawberry cobbler and fried chicken. She enjoyed quilting and had a green thumb. She loved gardening and keeping beautiful flowers. She retired as a cashier from MFA and had also been a cook at the Buffalo High School, where she was able to see many of her grandchildren over the years. Dorothy, Me-Ma, Grandma Dorothy, and the many other loving titles she held, was well-loved by her family and friends. She will be missed by them and all those that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 2, 1996; and her youngest son, Stuart Bruce Wilson, on Jan. 11, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Iris June and husband, George W. Watson, Buffalo; her son, Dale Gene and wife, Cindy Wilson, Buffalo; her daughter-in-law, Alice Wilson, Ozark; nine grandchildren: Russell and wife, Kim Andrews, Fair Grove, Brad and wife, Shannon Andrews, Bolivar; Evonne Wilson, Justin and wife, Ashley Wilson, John Hardin, and Miranda and husband, Matthew Kerr, all of Springfield, Kim and husband, Shannon Jackson, Windyville, Nathan Wilson, Ozark, and Marissa Wilson, Stillwater, Okla.; 14 great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Benjamin Andrews, Brooklynn and husband, Richard Fuller, Brady Andrews, Paige Williams, Kyler Wilson, Kaylee, Kadynce and Kenzie Wilson, Artemio, Kendrick and Amaiya Jackson, and Abigail and Mikaila Kerr; and a great-great-grandchild due in June.
