Lala Virginia Rhodelander-Bibee

Mrs. Lala Virginia Rhodelander-Bibee was born February 3, 1930 in windyville, Missouri, the daughter of Owen Ether and Ethol Leena Sturdevant Coffelt, and grew up there. She attended Windyville school and was a member of the Buffalo Quilting Club and the Plad Bapgtist Church. On February 9, 1946 she was united in marriage with John Bert Rhodelander, and moved to Tunas, MO. Virginia (Gin) enjoyed many hours of quilting. She made many quilts over the years, all hand-stitched never machined. Though she never had children of her own, she always had children in the home. She loved having them around, showing them how life was on the farm, from milking cows to delivering baby pigs or calves. She also loved baking fresh rolls, always making enough food to feed an army, even if it was just for 2 or 3 people you always had plenty to eat. She also made some of the best pies and chocolate sheet cakes. She enjoyed life on their farm in Tunas, where they helped raise several little boys to be good men to their families and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and especially her cooking. Her passion in life was playing the piano for family, friends and in Church. I am certain she is playing in Heaven now, right beside a big lake with her fishing pole, catching the big one that always seemed to get away before she could land him. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents: Owen and Ethol Coffelt and her husband of 62 years: John Bert Rhodelander. Survivors include her husband, Robert Bibee, a step-son, John Griffiths and wife Carolyn of Bolivar, a step-grandson, James Griffiths, and a number of nieces and nephews, including special great-nephews: Dean Rhodelander and wife Kay and David Haase and wife Terry. A special thank you to Terry Haase and Pat Glass for all of their love and care to Virginia over these last days. Your love and caring brought her home in Peace. God Bless. And her husband Bob Bibee for making her final days the happiest she has been in many years. Thank You. Services were held Friday, October 10th at Noon in the Montogmery-Viets Chapel with Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Casketbearers were: John Griffiths, David Haase, Dean Rhodelander, James Griffiths, Henry Glass and Chris Rhodelander. Music selections were: "In the Garden," "Amazing Grace," and "Suppertime." Interment was in the Plad Cemetery under the direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
