Michael Glen Berry

Michael Glen Berry was born May 10, 1967 in Kansas City, Kansas and went home to the Lord on December 26, 2015 at the age of 48. Mike was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, best friend and proud and loving husband. Mike, as everyone knew him, grew up in Independence, Missouri, and moved to Dallas County in 2010, when he took a position with the Dallas County Road and Bridge Department, servicing and maintaining the county's equipment. In his spare time he loved to smoke meat and had dreams of competition cooking. His first attempt resulted in first place at the Long Lane Lion's Club First Annual BBQ Cook-off. Beyond his competition Mike's creations were shared and enjoyed by many! He loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends on Independence Day and the opening weekend of deer season. In keeping with his love of family and friends Mike also loved to quail hunt. He did most of this on family grounds in northern Dallas County. This also required training and working with dogs which he loved dearly. Mike is survived by his wife Sherry of the home, parents Walter and Linda Berry of Independence, Missouri, sister Annie Roberts, husband Craig and niece Emory of Dripping Springs, Texas, children Brian Postlethwait, wife Silvi and granddaughters Elle and Siena of Independence, Missouri, Eli Postlethwait, wife Ashton and grandchildren Roy, Lilli, Luci and Lena of Independence, Missouri, Jeffery Berry, wife Amanda and grandchildren Conner and Tristan of Elkland, Missouri, and Justin Berry of Rolla, Missouri, aunts Maryann McDonald of Tunas, Missouri, Teresa Gage of Tunas, Missouri, and uncle Chuck McDonald of Louisburg, Kansas. He was preceded in death by grandfather (paps) Glen Berry and grandmother Ruby and uncle Wesley Berry. He loved to assist others and volunteered every chance he could, often giving up time he could spend on his own hobbies, to help others. Mike was loved and respected. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services for Mike will be held at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. The funeral will be Thurday, December 31st at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at the AB Church Cemetery, in Celt, Missouri.
