Stormie Annette Kirksey

Stormie Annette (Akins) Kirksey, beloved wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, departed this life on May 21, 2024, after a decades-long battle with kidney disease brought on by lupus. Our beautiful Stormie will be dearly missed and is survived by her husband Daren, son Evan (Mariah), father Chuck (Teri) Akins, mother Debra Akins, and grandparents George and Ruth Akins. Stormie is further survived by 12 siblings: her “wombmate” and identical twin, Mistie (Eric) Dickenson, Jeremie (Tara) Akins, Amber (Joe) Moore, Matison (Signey) Akins, Randilyn (Adam) Spaulding, Tiffany (Matt) Scarborough, Jaxin Akins, Brandy Quinlan, Tracy (Randy) Zorich, Andrew (Cassie) Perkins, Krysta (Nick) Henderson, Angela Peterson, and Danielle Peterson. In addition to the 12 siblings, Stormie is also survived by their children–her bonus children. Stormie so fiercely loved her more than 25 nieces and nephews and 3 and a half great-nieces and nephews. The list of those loved by Stormie could never be completely written so huge was her heart, so it shall conclude with these. Stormie was raised in the Ozarks on Pomme De Terre Lake. She attended school at Hermitage R-IV and Hickory Co. R-I (Skyline), graduating from Skyline in 1992. Stormie married Daren Kirksey of Bolivar in May of 1998 and together they had one son, Evan. Stormie loved babies and children more than anything and lived for her only child and her aforementioned “bonus” children. Family was everything to Stormie and to Stormie, friends were family. She was generous and loving and enjoyed being ornery more than most! Stormie enjoyed a life in her home and was passionate about God. A celebration of life will be held in Buffalo, Missouri at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home on Friday, May 24. Visitation will begin at 2:00 with service to follow at 3:00. Viewing for immediate family will be at 1:00 with burial following the service.
