Services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home with Pastor David Oberdieck officiating. Music is recorded selections of “What a Friend” and “Lord’s Prayer.” Burial was at 2 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Escorts were Eric Cross, Levi Cross, Lane Cross, Donald Mumm, Glenn Heppermann and Cris Gillen. Susan Gail Mattmann Wade, 53, Elkland, was born Nov. 16, 1957, in St. Louis, the daughter of Lawrence and Gene Mattmann. She died April 16, 2011, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, Bolivar. She was a full-time mom and best friend to everyone. She was the most patient and kind-hearted person to all. Her favorite things in life were her family. She loved her grandbabies more than life itself. She was always smiling, even on her worst days. She was a strong woman in her faith always. She was baptized as an infant and brought up in the Lutheran church. She was a true believer in her maker. She was united in marriage with the love of her life, Curtis Logan Wade, on March 31, 1975, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wentzville. She touched more lives than she ever knew. Her daily routine consisted of chats with her sister and her daughter or just calling to check up on her son and his family. She was always there to help solve any problem or for lending an ear for comfort. Although she was a simple person, she had her favorite things in life, one being her dog, Winnie Mae. They were best buds. She loved to watch scary shows and drink coffee, along with enjoying her daily dose of M&M’s and SpongeBob Squarepants. She was always a kid at heart. Being so small and petite, she loved to have her nails and hair done. She loved to shop, always dressed to impress, yet she never left her sweatsuits far and had one of every color. Her hobby was to keep her house clean. It was never a chore to her but something she loved to do. She always put everyone before her self. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Curtis; two children: Samuel Lucas Wade and Jessica Jean Wade; five grandchildren: Bayley Connor, Kendall Rae Morgan, Averey Elizabeth Heppermann, Alyssa Daralyn and Jesse Logan Wade; and two step-grandchildren: Preston John and Kailie Marie Gourley.
