Billy Gene Hale

February 7, 1949 - January 27, 2022

Billy Gene Hale was born to Dean and Ethel (Fugate) Hale, on February 7, 1949 in Buffalo, Missouri. He passed from this life on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 72 years. On June 27, 1970 he was united in marriage to Georgia Ann Ford and to this union one son was born, Matthew Ford Hale. Bill was raised in Buffalo and acquired a lifelong love of cattle and farming from his father Dean, subsequently passed along to his son Matt. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1967 and attended University of Missouri where he graduated in 1971. Throughout his lifetime Bill enjoyed raising cattle, going to any type of auction or sale and trading real estate. Later in life he was truly in his element working for his nephew’s fireworks business and those that got to see him on the 4th of July in Rolla or Springfield and New Year’s Eve in Gretna, LA can still picture the big smile on his face. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert Dean (Bob) Hale; two sisters, Shirley Weatherly and Louise Smith. He is survived by his wife Georgia and son Matt. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends who will all miss him. Funeral services for Bill will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Louisburg Cemetery in Louisburg, Missouri under the direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, January 31, 2022 in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Louisburg Cemetery.
