Donna Sue McCaslin

July 17, 1938 - March 16, 2022

Donna Sue McCaslin, daughter of the late Marvin Franklin and Polly (Lemmons) Elsea, was born on July 17, 1938 in Sweet Springs, MO and departed this life on March 16, 2022 at her home in Phillipsburg, MO surrounded by her family. At the time of her passing she was 83 years, seven months, and 29 days of age. Donna was saved at the age of 12 at the Christian Church in Sweet Springs, MO. She was united in marriage to Oren McCaslin on August 4, 1956. She was a homemaker for several years before opening an antiques business in the Charity School. Donna and Oren moved to Phillipsburg and continued their antiques business at the Phillipsburg School before moving to New York to work in the antiques and imports business. After retiring in 2015, Donna and Oren moved back to Phillipsburg and enjoyed spending time with their family. She also enjoyed quilting, cooking, and showing her love with sarcasm. She was often heard ending a conversation with “The Hell you say.” Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Van Elsea; one sister, Elnora Crider; two grandchildren, Cassie and Jason; and one son-in-law, Ron Harris. She is survived by her husband Oren of the home; three sons, Zachary & wife Darlene McCaslin of Phillipsburg, MO, Zane & wife Alison McCaslin of Phillipsburg, MO, and Greg & wife Dewanna Armstrong of Buffalo, MO; two daughters, Tammy McCaslin of Warsaw, MO and Regina Harris of Conway, MO; one brother, Marty & wife Cindy Elsea of Sweet Springs, MO; two sisters, Ruby Jean & husband Dennis Zimmercheid of Blackburn, MO and Jolene & husband Jim Studer of Minnesota; 13 grandchildren, Kelly, Dusty, Jerome, Jacob, Angela, Darrell, Tashina, Zachariah, Sarah, Kerrigan, Robert, Mason, and Cooper; and 20 great-grandchildren, Dayton, Darby, Dakota, Addie, Hunter, Riley, Nick, Kendall, Easton, Joe, Izabelle, Charlie, Trevor, Kennedy, Maddie, Zylynn, Braxton, Jackson, Elias, and Axelle. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Dusty Armstrong officiating. Escorts will be Darrell Keil, Jerome Bagley, Jake Bagley, Hunter Bagley, Riley Bagley, and Dayton Armstrong. Honorary escort will be Mason McCaslin. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
