Floyd Ernist Sharp, son of the late Don and Florence (Pierce) Sharp was born on October 17, 1955 in Buffalo, MO and departed this life on January 1, 2019 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 63 years, 2 months, and 14 days of age. Floyd was reared and attended school in Buffalo, Missouri. After his schooling he went to work in Kansas City for a short time before returning to Buffalo where he worked on his farm and started trucking. He drove a milk route and a gas route before going to work for Calhoun Trucking in Springfield, MO. He was united in marriage to Melba Henderson, and together they spent 44 happy years raising their family and running the farm. Floyd loved the outdoors, hunting, taking care of the farm, or just sitting out on the back porch watching his cattle and the weather. His greatest joy and the most important thing in his life was his grandkids. Any day he got to spend time with them was a great day, whether it was just hanging out, doing something with them, or watching their sports activities. They were his pride and joy, his everything. Floyd was saved at an early age and baptized in the Lindley Creek. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jerry Sharp. He is survived by his wife Melba of the home; one son, Michael & wife Jenifer Sharp of Rogersville, MO; two brothers, Donnie & wife Nora Ann Sharp of Buffalo, MO and Alford & wife Linda Sharp of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Kaiden, Kael, Rhett, and Baylor; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou & husband Don Watt and Margie Prock; and Julie & Jimmy Massengale who held a special place in his heart. Floyd was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, as well as his Aunts and Uncles. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2019 at the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo with Dr. Douglas Earls officiating. Escorts will be Eric Sharp, Erron Sharp, Edan Sharp, Darrick Jones, Josh Jones, and Michael Sharp. Honorary escorts will be Reggie Sharp, Rickie Sharp, Tim Hillenburg, Mark Williams, and Johnny Burns. Interment will be in the Reynolds Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
