Gerald (Gary) W. Martin was born on March 21, 1943 in Windyville, MO. He departed this life on June 5, 2018 at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 15 days following an illness. Gary spent nearly all his life in Dallas County and attended school in Windyville, MO. He then joined the U.S Army on November 13, 1964, where proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, and he was honorably discharged on November 9, 1967. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Oval & Thelma (Peppers) Martin. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann Alford; one brother, Ronnie Martin; three grandchildren, C. Tyler Alford, Mackenzie Alford and Paige Alford; two nephews, Thomas Martin and Terry Bradley; two nieces, Kari (Martin) Boyles and Sherri (Bradley) Webb. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, friends and family who will all truly miss him. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Pepper’s Cemetery in Windyville, MO. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brad Burns, Braden Burn, Bradley Burns, Clint Alford, C. Tyler Alford and Rick Dowell. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites were accorded by the Cantlon Otterness & Viets funeral home of Buffalo.
