Penny Sue McHenry

Penny Sue McHenry, the daughter of Lemuel and Mary (Kirkham) Massey was born on September 8, 1957 and passed away on June 28, 2021 in her home at the age of 63. Penny was raised and went to school in Buffalo, Missouri. She married Donnie McHenry on January 5, 1974 in Buffalo, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Penny enjoyed working outdoors, mowing her lawn, planting flowers, and watching the squirrels and birds in the front yard. She also enjoyed thrifting, crafting, and decorating. Penny loved taking care of other people, especially children, and her grandchildren were her world. Penny worked at Key Industries, Bass Pro Shops, and for the last 20-25 years she was a childcare provider. She loved all her babies she took care of like they were her own. Penny was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Nobles. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Donnie McHenry of the home, her daughters; Jennifer and husband Steve Polston, Daphne, AL, and Stephanie and husband Steve Smith, Canon City, CO, three brothers; Mike Massey Reno, NV, Ray Massey of Kentucky, Kenneth and wife Marquetta Massey, Smithsgrove, KY, two sisters; Nancy Owens, Buffalo, MO, and Kimberly Justice, Buffalo, MO, and five grandchildren; Julia Brotherton, Chase, Brady, Alison Polston, and Nicole Smith. Funeral services for Penny will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Church with Dr. Douglas Earls officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
