Anna Marie Hill

Anna Marie Skinner Hill departed this life on February 3, 2016. Marie was born on January 24th, 1933 in Elkland, Missouri to Charley Skinner and Nellie (Shembarger) Skinner. Marie married Richard Dale Hill on November 10th, 1949. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Herbert Harman in Elkand, Missouri. Richard and Marie had two children. Richard L. Hill and Judith E. Hill Logsdon. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brothers: Halsely, Rob, Pope, Ed, L.D., Vinis and Leroy "Bubby" Skinner, sisters: Bert Shembarger, Etta Vance, Pina Williams, Lindie Williams and Clara Williams. Marie is survived by sisters: Ruth (Clifford) White, Wanda (James) Weeks, Forence (Jr.) Hogoboom, Patsy (Cecil) Bailey and Phyllis (Bill) Ray, brother: Darrel (Lori) Skinner, sister-in-laws: Wanda Powell and Sue Skinner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was saved when she was a teenager and was very close to her Lord. She always said "Without Him I could never have made it." She would think of the ones that did not believe and she would pray for them to get their selves right with their Lord. Marie never used the term "in-law" she simply would use brother or sister. She loved everyone equally. Marie was a member of Old Mt. Pleasant Church, where she attended as long as her health would allow. She was also a member of the Ethridge Tennessee Easter Star. Marie loved being a care giver to her loved ones, and a second mother to her younger siblings. She was a hairdresser since 1965. She has worked in a county hospital and nursing homes. She volunteered at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, TN and Colonial Springs Nursing Home in Buffalo. Marie loved Gospel and Country music and "jamming" with friends. She was also well known for the homemade pies and cobblers. Marie is also survived by her two children: Richard "Rick" and Shirley "Shirl" Hill of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Judith "Judy" and Randy Logsdon of Bishop, Georgia. Four grandchildren: David L. (Tamiko) Hill, Curtis E. (Rhonda) Hill, Anna M. L. (Michael) Jordan and Brandi R. (David) Wickett, and five great-grandchildren: Christian Busby, Richard Davis Jordan, Cameron Elijah Jordan, Randall Isaac Aaron Wickett and Ireland Nicole Rena Wickett. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 7th at 3 P.M. in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with the Rev's. Dennis Skinner and Dusty Armstrong officiating. Music selections will be: "God on the Mountain," and "Go Rest High on that Mountain." Casketbearers will be Greg Armstrong, Junior Hogoboom, Bill Ray, Dewayne Weeks, James Weeks and Dusty Armstrong. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1-3 P.M.
