Jo Ann Bramwell

Jo Ann Bramwell, 87, of Windyville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 27, 1938, in Long Lane, Missouri. Jo Ann was the daughter of Joe and Veda Dull. Raised on a farm in the Ozark Hills at the close of the Great Depression, she grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, family, the land, and God's grace. Those values became the foundation of her life and guided her throughout her 87 years. She attended Windyville High School before beginning the next chapter of her life with Dennie Bramwell. In July 1957, Jo Ann married Dennie Bramwell. Together they shared 69 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, hard work, and enduring love. They were blessed with two children, Byron Nordell Bramwell and Delanna Yandell (Bramwell) Toevs, who remained the pride and joy of their lives. Even though work first led them to the city, they never let go of their dream of returning home. After purchasing their first farm along the Niangua River, they eventually settled back into Windyville, MO. Side by side, they spent 44 years farming together. Jo Ann was a woman of many talents. She worked as a school bus driver, a hair stylist, was an accomplished quilter, and had a passion for sewing. Whether tending to the farm, bottle-feeding orphan calves, preparing meals for family and friends, creating quilts and much of her own clothing by hand, or lending a helping hand to someone in need, Jo Ann poured her heart into caring for others. She approached every task with patience, determination, strength, and an unwavering work ethic. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. Strong and steadfast in her beliefs, Jo Ann lived her faith through the compassion, kindness, and grace she extended to everyone she met. She was an active member of her church and found great joy in serving her community. Some of her family's fondest memories were gathered around her table. Her homemade coleslaw and famous goodie cake became family traditions. For her grandchildren, time spent with Memmie and Papa was filled with adventure, laughter, and simple moments that became lifelong treasures. Those summers on the farm will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Above all, Jo Ann cherished her family. She was a loving daughter and sister, a caring mother, a devoted wife, and a beloved "Memmie" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was watching her family grow and making sure everyone always knew they were loved. Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dennie Bramwell; her son, Byron Nordell Bramwell; her daughter, Delanna Yandell (Bramwell) Toevs and husband, Fred; her grandchildren, Bill Bramwell and wife, Christie, Bob Bramwell and wife, Heather, Candie Smarr and husband, David, Jill Kelley and husband, Nick, Katie Hertzog and husband, Brian, and Samantha Eager and husband, Andrew; her great-grandchildren, Kaylene Whited and husband, Max, Savanna Bramwell, Mack Bramwell, Averie Smarr, Emma Smarr, Makenna Kelley, Morgan Kelley, Cooper Eager, Hayden Eager, Grady Eager, Carter Eager, Hutson Hertzog, Harper Hertzog, Hollis Hertzog, and Halle Hertzog; her great-great-grandsons, Baylor Whited and Leo Whited. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Veda Dull; her brothers, Arnold Dull, Garland Dull, and Ty Dull; and her beloved great-grandson, Wyatt Bramwell. Jo Ann will be remembered for her unwavering faith, tireless work ethic, generous heart, and steadfast love for her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her example will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will forever be in our hearts. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August7, 2026, with visitation from 12 pm- 2 pm. Formal services will begin at 2 pm with Pastor J.W. O’Neil officiating. Jo Ann will be laid to rest at Lone Rock Cemetery with her grandchildren: Bill, Bob, Candie, Jill, Katie, and Samantha serving as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo.
