Joyce Alene Larimer

Mrs. Joyce Alene (Carroll) Larimer was born to John and Ada (Poston) Carroll on October 23, 1927 near Richland, MO. She departed this life on January 29, 2018 at the Maples Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Springfield, MO. She was saved at 13 years of age at the Independence Baptist Church in Richland, MO, She later joined the Windyville Baptist Church. After marrying she joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Charity, MO, where she remained a faithful member as long as health permitted. She was married to Ralph Edward Larimer on December 23, 1954, by the fireplace in her parent's home, by Bro. Leonard Miller. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never had a driver's license. She enjoyed sewing, reading, shopping, growing a garden, her flowers and working on her family dairy farm. She was known for calling her friends to check on them. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant sisters, her husband Ralph and infant son Ralph Jr., and 2 infant grandchildren: Elizabeth and Matthew Larimer. Survivors include her daughter Linda and husband Leroy Perry, 2 sons: James Larimer and wife Teresa and Joe Larimer all of Elkland; grandson Scott Perry and wife Kim, granddaughter Lakresha Larimer and step-grandchildren Brynn and husband Will Hendrick and Patrick and wife Danen Hammond, Caitlyn Jarvela and Garrett Jarvela. Greatgrandchildren: Clinton Perry, Kiara and Makenna Larimer and a greatgrandson to be born in the Spring. StepGreatgrandchildren: Blakely Hendrick and McKinley and Everett Hammond, Owen Jarvela and Kayden Jarvela. One sister: Phoebe and husband Jim Farr of Alamo, TX and one brother: Johnny Carroll of Springfield, MO and a sister-in-law: Zelma Larimer. And a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will greatly miss her. Funeral Services were held Friday, February 2nd at 10 A.M. in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with Rev. David Stotts officiating. Music was by Kim Hendrix and Diane Cowden, who sang: "Lily of the Valley," and "God's Family," accompanied by Ann Harmon, pianist. A recorded selection of "Jealous of the Angels" was also played. Casketbearers were: Edward Gann, Harold Gann, Wayne Hardison, Scott Perry, Chuck Sayer and Kirby Vest. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the Harmony Cemetery.
