Mildred Irene Howerton

Mildred Irene Howerton daughter of Henry and Ruby (Warren) Eisman, was born east of Buffalo, Mo on July 29, 1937 and passed away on September 3, 2013 at the Colonial Springs Nursing Home in Buffalo, Mo. She attended the Chicago rural school until entering Buffalo High School, graduating in 1954. A close friend introduced her to Bob Howerton and they were married October 30, 1955. To this union one son, Steven, was born. Mildred was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was happiest being outdoors caring for the livestock and her many cats She enjoyed sports, kept up with the St. Louis Cardinal games, and loved attending her grandsons many ball games. She started riding horses as a very young child and that was an enjoyment for many years. She was a charter member of the Buffalo Saddle Club and worked hard each year preparing for the annual show. she was also a lifetime member of the Mo. Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association. Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church and attended as long as her health permitted. Her parents preceded her in death, also two brothers, Kenny and Warren Eisman. She is Survived by her loving husband Bob, son Dr. Steven, daughter in law Dr. Tina Howerton, and grandsons Justin, Ryan, and Chad of Lebanon, Mo. A brother Willard and wife Frances of Buffalo, sisters-in-law Lila Eisman of Buffalo. Doris Brevenne or Morgan Mo. and brother-in-law Don Howerton and wife Virginia of Long Lane, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred had a beautiful smile for all those she came in contact with and will be truly missed by family and friends. Funeral services were held Sat. Sept. 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery at Long Lane, MO. Pallbearers were Chester Howerton, Ryan Howerton, Chad Howerton, Denny Eisman, Greg Eisman, and Keith Maddux. Honorary Escorts were Theresa Townsend, Leotta Brown, Barbara Lashell, and Tina Alverson. Music was sung by Tim Case and Kim Hendrix with Patsy Viets and Ann Harmon accompanying them under direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo MO. Memorials may be made to Harmony Cemetery, Engle's Senior Center, or First Christian Church youth.
