Minnie Mae Sharp

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brent Sharp and Bro. Dennis Skinner officiating. A recorded selection of “If You Knew” by Levi Hale was played. Dusty and Becky Armstrong sang, “One Day at a Time” and “Going Home.” Burial was in Reynolds Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Escorts were Ronnie Sharp, Reggie Sharp, Jody Sharp, Jonathan Sharp, Warren Sharp and Jim Rodelander. Honorary escorts were Debbie Hunt, Kathy Okerstrom, Rick Sharp, Vickie Eagle, Greg Sharp, Brent Sharp, Tresa Ryan, Jamie Sharp, Tanda Sharp, Kim Hull, Kelly Brazil, Kristy Sharp and Kari Sharp. Minnie Mae (Gault) Sharp was born May 7, 1915, in Windyville, the daughter of John Gault and Lena Daisy Clark Jones Gault. She died Sept. 21, 2010, surrounded by family at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 14 days. While living in Windyville she met and married her beloved husband, Granvil Sharp on Nov. 22, 1932. To this union six children were born. They later moved to Buffalo where they lived their entire life until their death. She was baptized on Oct. 14, 1945, in Lindley Creek. She loved singing in the choir on Sundays. She was a member of Reynolds Chapel Church early in her life and later moved her membership to Buffalo Free Will Baptist Church. She spent her entire life as a homemaker. She enjoyed baking and was known for her homemade pies, cobblers, noodles and biscuits. She loved quilting, canning and gardening. She enjoyed watching, listening and going to sporting events. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be remembered greatly for her wit, keen mind, adventurous spirit, and the laughter she brought to her entire family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Harold G. Gault; two stepbrothers: Guy Jones and Floyd Jones; two twin granddaughters: Sandy Shawn and Cindy Dawn Sharp; and her daughter-in-law, Florene Sharp. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Rodelander, Lebanon; five sons: Bill Sharp, Bob and wife, Donna Sharp, Gary and wife, Jane Sharp, Buffalo, Rex and wife, Stephanie Sharp, Halfway, and Jim and wife, Tootie Sharp, Pekin, Ill.; her grandchildren: Reggie Sharp, Debbie Hunt, Kathy Okerstrom, Rick Sharp, Vickie Eagle, Jim Rodelander, Warren Sharp, Greg Sharp, Kim Hull, Kelly Brazil, Ronnie Sharp, Kristy Sharp, Kari Sharp, Brent Sharp, Tresa Ryan, Jody Sharp, Jamie Sharp, Tanda Sharp and Jonathan Sharp; 42 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Her family loved her dearly and will all truly miss her.
