Travis Ray Bradley

Travis Ray Bradley, 83, the son of Wilford A. and Alma Ellen (Gaunt) Bradley, was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Long Lane at the family farm. He died April 30, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.Travis was united in marriage with Alice Charlene Carver on January 30th, 1954. They made their home in Buffalo, MO until 1964 when they moved back to the family farm at Long Lane. Their children, Lila Kay Bradley Wilkins and Dennis Ray Bradley were raised on this farm which became a Missouri Century Farm in 2016. Travis began working at the young age of 14. Over the span of 60 years, he worked for Graden McDaniels Turkey Farm, Thomas Motor Company(North Cutt Ford), Chapman Furniture, Buffalo Auto Salvage and Hubert Motors. Travis was a member of First Christian Church of Buffalo where he served as a Deacon for many years. His wide, bright smile and infectious laugh were contagious. Travis quietly did many good deeds and services for those in need whether it be financial or physical labor. His grandchildren will always be able to recall precious special memories of time spent with Grandpa Travis, as he loved his grandbabies and always took time to work and play with them. His love of pocket knives, Ford Trucks, basketball games, dirt track racing, playing Wahoo, visiting with his friends at Hardees and good hard work will be remembered by all who knew him. Travis was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Elbert, Bill and Levin Bradley; four sisters: Dessie Pinkley, Eula Cheek Potter, Naomi Wingo, and Irene Bennett; and a brother and sister in infancy: Buddy J. and Essie Fay; and two grandsons Robert Michael Chapman and Jonathan Bradley Chapman. Travis is survived by his wife Charlene, one brother, Avery Bradley and friend Mary Slack of Willard, MO and two sisters, Nadine and Eugene Burtin of Eureka, KS and Phyllis Harper of Springfield, MO. Travis is also survived by daughter Lila and husband Robert Wilkins of Rolla, MO, son Dennis and wife Kathy Bradley of Lebanon, MO, and 7 grandchildren: Randall and Erica Bradley of Lebanon, MO, Brad and Jennifer Chapman of Crocker, MO, Misty and Jeremy Stark of Jefferson City, MO, Travis and Yoshino Bradley of Columbus, IN, Jessica and Brent Moore of Little Elm, TX, Lucas and Jade Chapman of Rolla, MO and Linley Chapman and friend, Todd Marsey of Jefferson City, MO. Bonus grandchildren include: Stephanie Thompson, Rachel Dollens, Lindsey Wilkins and Jessica Wilkins. Great-grandchildren include: Rachel, Audra, Dawson, Mason, Amy, Melissa, Jaelyn, Jolee, Emma, Jay, Andrea, Bryant, Kayla, Baylor, Dallie, Andy, Shirley, Brandon, Juliane, Dakota, William, Hunter, and Brady. Funeral Services will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday May 3, 2017 in the Buffalo First Christian Church with Bro. Dennis Skinner and Rev. Jennifer Long officiating. Music will be "Amazing Grace" by Rev. Tim Case, "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Jeremy Stark and "I'll Cross Jordan Someday" by Johnny Cash. Escorts will be his grandkids: Randall Bradley, Bradley Chapman, Misty Stark, Travis Bradley, Jessica Moore, Lucas Chapman, and Linley Chapman. Honorary Escorts will be Johnny Stepp and Doug Matthews. Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo Visitation will be Tuesday May 2, 2017 from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel In Lieu of flowers, MEMORIALS may be made to the HILL Cemetery.
